Data acquisition and integration
As part of the second seismic campaign in September, the GFZ repeated the 2D and VSP surveys in the Tromm area, the VSP survey in the GeoLaB-1 borehole, the walk-away VSP survey, and the surface profile. The data from these surveys are now available and are being analyzed. In addition, the first GeoLaB-1 cores were transferred to the GFZ, and geochemical and petrological analyses and geomechanical experiments are being conducted in collaboration with KIT and TUDa. Furthermore, new XRD measurements were conducted on core fragments by F. Deon at the GFZ, with modifications to the measurement duration and instrument setup; these, together with thin sections prepared by J. Grimmer, distinguish between granitic and metamorphic units. For more precise differentiation and classification, highly polished thin sections and XRF analyses are being performed.
