WP4 Data management system (DMS)
The KADI system has been established as the central data management and integration system and available project data was included systematically into KADI. These datasets originate partly from existing systems and partly from current measurement campaigns, and have been systematically tagged with the relevant metadata to enable structured archiving and subsequent reuse. Additionally, a ‘GeoLaB data workshop’ on integrating data into KADI was held (08-09.07.2025 in Leipzig). The aim was to clarify KADI’s role within the project and emphasise its advantages over alternative platforms, such as NextCloud. During the workshop, future system functions were presented and ideas for further user-oriented development were collected. Particular focus was placed on making KADI easier to use for all cooperation partners. To this end, a guide to uploading data was created, and its contents were conveyed in a practical manner during an accompanying upload session. This should simplify and standardise the integration of project-related data. Additionally, conventions for naming and structuring data in KADI were discussed to ensure uniform and easily accessible data storage. This standardisation is particularly intended to improve the traceability and reusability of data within the network. Furthermore, a preliminary list of the measurement datasets planned for the next project phases was compiled. This list will be used to coordinate and plan further data collection in advance. All information about the workshop, including the presentations and results, is stored centrally in the KADI system.
